Sanders Is Taking Dem Support For Granted

It's clear that Sanders has no respect for Ds who are not supporting him. He is asking the super delegates to overturn the clear preference of a multi-million number of Ds who have put Hillary in a daunting lead and to switch their votes to him. He is also expecting that all other Ds would still vote for him even if he somehow sabotaged Hillary's primary victory.

In other words, Sanders believes that he can disparage the Party, call the D nominating process a rigged system, call any Ds who don't support him part of a corrupt establishment, aver that the D Party doesn't watch out for the middle class, and yet after all that, we're supposed to fall in line as good Ds and vote for Sanders for president based on the simple truth that a Trump presidency is unthinkable.

Well, while that might have been true 8 months ago, I'm not so sure now, now that Sanders has gone off the deep end and is acting quite despotic himself. As Sanders is fond of saying, a lot can happen in 6 weeks, and while I have never voted for an R in my life, I might be open to looking at a non-D candidate were the RNC to somehow dump Trump and replace him with, say, a Michael Bloomberg-type candidate. At least Bloomberg WAS a D for a lot longer than Sanders has been a D (he's an Indy these days). At least he doesn't play the victim.

I just find it offensive that Sanders feels he can tear down rank-n-file Ds on a daily basis while assuming we'd all vote for him were he somehow to steal the nomination from Hillary.

anyway, there are just too many who wouldn't trust him with the economy and would be willing to put a fool in the white house to prevent the far left from getting there.

His advisors, campaign, and staff can all read the numbers we can read. But their inability to accept the reality of the results is what undermines them at every turn.

They live in a fantasy world where they can't possibly lose, even if they get less votes, delegates, and states. The super-delegates will not overrule the voters for Bernie Sanders. He is incompetent at a basic mental level if he truly believes that they will. What he's doing is lying to his supporters so as to extend the fund-raising he's been receiving.

Bernie Sanders and his staff are a bunch of con artists screwing progressive voters out of millions of dollars. And the worst part is, this was all Tad Devine's idea, and he drafted Sanders to be the face of it.

Bernie's supporters how Hillary MUST "win THEM over" while they treat Hillary's supporters with scorn, making a huge presumption that we would automatically vote for Bernie without question were he to be the nominee.

While it is true that I will NEVER vote for ANY GOP candidate in 2016, it is very good that I will not have to support Bernie because I no longer respect him as I once did. After NV 1 & 2, the grandstanding crap about the Pope (who was entirely consumed with the refugee crisis in Syria to which Bernie never even paid lip service), his anti-Dem statements, his constant victimhood, and making everything about HIM have all ensured that I will likely never respect him again.

Let us all hope that he regains some sanity when he finally recognizes reality.

I had supported Sanders in May last year, but it took less than 30 days for my eyes to open to the fact that I can't support an ideologue with the poor legislative record he's been trying to run away from.

His followers only bother me to the extent that they're blind with hatred for Hillary Clinton rather than in support of Sanders.

The deranged Hillary hatred coming from some of the BoB crowd is really the thing that bothers me. I wish Bernie would stop acting like he's not encouraging that - he knows he is. And he's doing it in the same way Trump does his dog whistles, in a really insidious and underhanded way. He pretends he hasn't gone back on his word not to "go negative" but he's already recycling RW talking points.

Jonathan Capehart (WA Post reporter) on Joy Reid's show today remarked that "Bernie has become Trump's speechwriter." He said that Bernie will say something negative about Hillary in the morning, and by 4 pm Donald Trump will have repeated what Bernie said verbatim.

He's making no attempt to win over Hillary supporters which he would need if he was the nominee. Hillary has been very gracious when appealing to Bernie supporters. Bernie has an agenda which doesn't include being nominated.

The condescending way he refers to people who don't support him is getting really old. Any respect I had for him is long gone.

He only takes a stand when things don't go his way. Where's his outrage about "undemocratic" caucuses? Where's his respect for the popular vote – the "will of the voter" he always used to talk about in the beginning? Where's his acknowledgement that he lied about not going negative? Gone, because it doesn't fit his narrative.

His criticism would carry a lot more weight if he wasn't guilty of the same things he rails against. Not once have I seen him acknowledge his hypocrisy — instead he doubles down on pointing fingers at everyone else.

They'll be back in November when they realize how bad Trump is though.
