They honestly didn't know Bernie was going to lose.

I've known it and said so since March. It reminds me of Republican voters in 2012 that were genuinely surprised that Romney lost. This primary wasn't even close.

23. Agreed. The fact that Sanders lost NV coming out of his YUGE win in NH

told the world that he was going to underperform in the primaries.

He had a bad case of "no-mentumô" that he never got over.

6. Exactly! They created a false narrative about Hillary.

It's going to be hard if not impossible to shake off the delusional thinking that they're pure and everyone else is evil.

27. Sorry, but it's willful ignorance. They get no benefit of the doubt from me.

Lots of cherrypicking, intentional ignoring (i.e., ignorance), and readiness to embrace RW hatefulness.

8. That is what happens when the only voice you hear is your own

An echo chamber may feel good in the moment but it isn't reality. When they emerge from that they are shocked to find a whole different world has been proceeding without them. The advent of computers just further insulates them from opinions other than their own. For those on the outside looking in, they really do appear deranged. It is like the methods used by a cult, though in this case, the isolation is self imposed.

26. Exactly. You hold these huge rallies which are not a dialogue with the candidate.

They're preaching to the choir, and everyone knows that the choir never gets to ask questions of the preacher.

At the same time, they scoff at Hillary holding small gatherings whose raison d'Ítre is to connect with voters and listen to what they have to say.

33. When you describe people who don't support your candidate as ---

low-information, corporatist, war mongers, war hawks, vagina voters, 1%, too old to matter, blood on their hands, pro-fracking, bought and sold, elitist, or anti-democratic, it is really hard to think their opinion and vote counts.

9. Bernie's rapid rise out of nowhere

reflects a deep discontent with the way the Democratic Party has been the last 20 or so years. I sincerely hope our nominee keeps that in mind, and that the Party hierarchy learns as well.

13. Sanders' rapid rise out of nowhere has everything to do with our male-centric

country, and nothing to do with his bombastic rhetoric, the refusal to vet him by our media, the millions donated to and spent on his behalf by Republicans.

What happened yesterday, despite all the above, is truly is historic in more ways than one. For the first time in history, a woman won the nomination of a major political Party and despite all the efforts to take her down, she won and will continue win. I sincerely hope your preferred candidate, his followers, and recalcitrant pro-GOP U.S. media learn that and understand, people can fool some of the people some of the time, but can't fool all of the people all of the time.

14. BS demonized Hillary and the Dem Party.. he promised his fans things he could never deliver.

I trust Hillary and I do not trust BS. He wanted President Obama to be primared in 2012.. He has a long list of hating on Democrats for years because they're not as pure as he sets himself up to be.

Turns out sanders isn't so pure after all when he got vetted.. which wasn't that much by the media but there was plenty on his history of record online.

I think historians will look back on Obama's presidency and place him, rightfully so, along side of FDR, JFK, LBJ, and William Jefferson Clinton. YMMV

I voted on April 5 for HRC, KNOWING she's already won this! I'm sure that many today will do the same!

This refusal to see him losing is a direct result of people seeing the end of patriarchy in our country.

19. That is what happens when you exist in an echo chamber and just listen to the cult leader.

I had this exchange with a Bernie supporter yesterday. Pnwmom also tried to shed some light into their dark place. Finally there just was no point. I walked away SMH.

It started with this post:

basselope (2,552 posts) Sun Jun 5, 2016, 03:45 PM

She still won't have enough delegates to clinch.

Sorry, just reality. Something Clintonites have a hard time with.
