Sanders to Colbert: No immediate plans to endorse Clinton; "absolutely" continuing presidential bid

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bernie Sanders told talk show host Stephen Colbert on Thursday he has no immediate plans to endorse Hillary Clinton in her general-election race against Donald Trump.

Sanders flatly said “no” when asked by Colbert whether he would endorse Clinton, who has effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, during Thursday's taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He also told Colbert he's "absolutely" continuing his presidential bid and said the need to "transform America," is more important than political campaigns.

"All of you and everybody else who’s watching have got to be involved in the political process, have got to stand up and fight for the kind of America that we know that we can become and I’m never going to give up on that fight," Sanders said to applause.

Colbert's audience clapped and chanted "Bernie" when he walked on stage. About half gave Sanders a standing ovation.

"You’ve gotten used to that," Colbert said. "Sounds awfully good," Sanders replied.

He could be very instrumental in bringing unity to the party after a hard fought primary. I understand that he is disappointed, but I'm really disappointed in him right now.

Seriously, that's all I got from that article. He didn't say anything that hasn't been said before.

he has not suspended.
I have maintained he's still running for the money for a while now.
Gotta keep paying Weaver and other senior staffers. His wife is one too.

..............He said his staff is negotiating on “an almost daily basis” with Clinton’s team, urging her to stake out the most progressive positions possible on campaign finance reform, health care, higher education, the economy and raising the minimum wage.

"What our job is now is to have her listen to what millions of people in this country who supported me want to see happen, and we'll see how that evolves,” he told C-SPAN’s Steve Scully.

He should think carefully about what course will be most likely to see elements of his agenda continue.

I bet that he would have asked him what 'continuing his presidential campaign' even means when he's already lost by every measure.

If he wants to contest the nomination until then, lose the nomination, and then get drowned out by the VP announcement, fine. I'll be happy either way.
