The Platform Committee.

So this has flared up. My views is that the winning campaign should and will dictate the major tenets of the party's platform. When you win an election by 57% and those major tenets were major themes of the election, your positions are the ones voted for by a majority of democratic voters. Anyone looking for concessions should search elsewhere and find common ground.

There's also a fundamental misunderstanding that the only people with input on the platform are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. It's the Democratic Party platform, not the platform of the two people left in the race at the end.

The comment earlier that Bernie Sanders should have more input than the President of the United States was particularly amusing.

Some folks want a big fat "F*** you, Obama" written into the platform and that is not going to occur at all.

but some want a strong rebuke of TPP, which while not supported in it's entirety by the candidates, is supported by the President.

OTOH - if it shuts up some of the nutcase loudmouths that were foisted upon us and doesn't violate Dem ideals, giving a bit here and there won't hurt.

After all, the President will implement the platform as SHE sees fit.
