If you’ve ever had an unfortunate encounter with a skunk, you know how extraordinarily unpleasant it is. Suddenly everyone “notices” you, and the jokes and comments are unavoidable. Sympathy and helping advice are offered from a safe distance. Even those who dislike you might remark on how much you stink, but they don’t go so far as to suggest that you have become the skunk — unless, of course, your name is Clinton, in which case there’s not enough tomato juice in the whole world. Meanwhile, the real skunks are laughing their asses off, while merrily plotting the next spray event.
