Hillary Clinton Opened Door to Key U.S. Shift Toward Iran Nuclear Deal (Normal People Group)

WASHINGTON—Hillary Clinton, in her last months as secretary of state, helped open the door to a dramatic shift in U.S. policy toward Iran: an acceptance that Tehran would maintain at least some capacity to produce nuclear fuel, according to current and former U.S. officials.

In July 2012, Mrs. Clinton’s closest foreign-policy aide, Jake Sullivan, met in secret with Iranian diplomats in Oman, but made no progress in ending the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program. In a string of high-level meetings here over the next six months, the secretary of state and White House concluded that they might have to let Iran continue to enrich uranium at small levels, if the diplomacy had any hope of succeeding.

“She recognized the difficulty of reaching a solution with zero enrichment,” said Mr. Sullivan, who now serves as Mrs. Clinton’s top campaign adviser on both domestic issues and foreign policy.

11. PM from my rapidly growing 'Fan Club'

After the Convention, when her minions ask me to help with a phone bank or canvassing, I now have the perfect excuse. I'll tell them that I'm not normal and wouldn't dream of sullying their effort with my weirdness. My volunteer time will instead go to downticket progressives who have a different attitude toward the party's left.

Bill Maher has talked about how the yute' has no sense of humor anymore. He cites several comics who refuse to even play Universities. I made a yuk yuk. Big deal.

I won't say who this is. Not important. Even though I can't remember the number of times I've read where people were called out......

If the newest addition to my Fan Club is reading this....I'd suggest going with Jill Stein and the Green Party. She is running as a Green Party Candidate. She's a real progressive. She stands no chance of winning but I respect her for what she says.... what she stands for. She is a good person. Just not Presidential material.
