(2,506 posts)Seems like too many of her team come here to whitewash her record (vote for Iraq war no big deal), support for Wall Street DLC no big deal etc. Trying to clean up and prep the ground before her announcement.
So please, tell us about her good qualities and record. For instance her healthcare plan was good and demonstrated leadership.

(11,573 posts)probably are republicans. They'd like nothing better than to drag a spoiler into the race and let Democrats shoot themselves in the foot--again.
Once upon a time I thought Ralph Nader was a hero. What I think about him now isn't repeatable in.polite company.

He is, however, doing a mighty fine job of splitting off some Warren supporters , who will sit home and pout when the convention comes round and Warren is still saying she doesn't want the nomination. If they admire her-- as I also do--why don't they accept that she knows her own mind?

(11,573 posts)(Clinton Derangement Syndrome, for any newcomers) is becoming more virulent.
All other things being equal, I'd have to give some very serious thought to supporting Bernie Sanders. But the truth is that an avowed socialist doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Yemen in the general election.

(71,265 posts)But I think he is one of the greatest politicians there are.

(11,573 posts)And before someone jumps me for calling him "an avowed socialist," I'm an avowed socialist myself.

(135,425 posts)Warren is a 'populist' in many ways but she's also not afraid of the military industrial complex--she's been very supportive of government industry in Massachusetts, because it's all about jobs. She also has brothers who served, one got the Purple Heart, and she is pro-military, pro-servicemember, pro-veteran.
It's clear to me that some people don't understand this aspect of her at all. I think she's a great senator, and I hope she continues to serve the commonwealth in that capacity for some time. If after a term or so she is selected for something like FED Chair, that would be a good gig for her, too.

(41,832 posts)Elizabeth Warren Goes to Bat for Medical Device Industry
Elizabeth Warren, the Democratic star who just last week unveiled a bill targeting the profits of large drug makers, doesn't sound like much of a populist when it comes to another group of big health care corporations, the medical device manufacturers, many of which happen to be headquartered in the Senators home state of Massachusetts. Warrens coziness with those companies is now earning her criticism within her party, with one former Democratic Senate staffer describing some of her positions as repulsive.
(snip)
Most visibly, she wants to repeal the medical device taxes that help fund President Barack Obamas signature health reform, the Affordable Care Act. That position has brought her into a surprising, if temporary, alliance on the issue with the new Republican leaders of Congress, who see repeal of the medical device tax as their most likely legislative vehicle to chip away at Obamacare.

Not posting to say anything is wrong with protecting her state's interest. THis post was just made for information on a topic that no one wants to post about at DU

(135,425 posts)I voted for her and those stances won't stop me from voting for her again.
I don't project my wishes and desires on her--she's a product of her history and her environment, and her views are typical of someone from her background--none of her attitudes are surprising to me, even if I don't buy all of them. I'm happy if she shares many, if not most, of my views.
I don't make The Perfect the enemy of The Good--that's how we wind up with Republicans.
