Was doing some reading recently

.... and came across this quote by Timothy Ferriss:

Online I see people committing 'social media suicide' all the time by one of two ways. Firstly by responding to all criticism, meaning you're never going to find time to complete important milestones of your own, and by responding to things that don't warrant a response. This lends more credibility by driving traffic.

Timothy Ferriss reminded me why I get up every morning. I am definitely ‘all in’ (I always disliked that phrase but my brain isn’t at 100% this morning) with regards to Hillary Clinton and will do everything I can to make sure she wins. This country…… this world…… needs someone with her background and expertise in the White House. Who knows, maybe after a couple of years in the White House Hillary might start changing the way of thinking in this country; that having a Woman in the White House is actually a damn good idea.

I know it's difficult to ignore posts that push the stupid envelope, but BSrs love baiting Hillary supporters. I can't tell you what to do or not do, that's your decision. Just consider if it is worth your while to address something that will only lead to elevated blood pressure. The BSrs will then be forced to create 'ghost supporters of Hillary' so they'll have something to attack.

Hillary is already donating to the DNC. This is something that usually doesn't begin until a clear nominee is determined. The BSrs will see this as the DNC being "in bed" with Hillary. Nope, it's just a candidate that knows how the Political election process is handled and she realizes how important it is to support the party that will help her win the General Election. The BSrs want to completely dismantle the DNC and clean house. That's a little difficult when your candidate has virtually zero support from Democrats currently in office or those that were in office and when your supporters see the DNC as the "enemy".

5. Oh, I'm no Saint

I get sucked in. Especially when I see the use of selective information that is used to create the desired result/conclusion. It's something I've grown to expect from the Republicans, but not people that claim to be Democrats.

GDP has become an old 8-Track player. Same songs being played over and over and over............

2. I am building up my ignore list again.

I really think most of the bull suit posts are by people who are not Bernie supporters. If they are his supporters then they are not thinking straight. All they are doing is preaching to the choir.
None of that made up shit will change minds.
If they are just trying to piss people off then they don't belong here. We use to have something called flame bait which it is but I guess the jury system replaced it.
Also they know Hillary is going to be the nominee so most of those posts are sour grapes or trying to even a score.
The five stages of grief: denial, anger, depression, bargaining and acceptance.
Between now and Super Tuesday they will have gotten at least to depression.

3. I don't have too many people on my ignore list

Sometimes I read some of the most vitriolic posts because it's like watching a train wreck. But I hardly ever post to them or respond to the baiting. Don't see much point in it. People will either get it or they won't. When this is all over and we have a nominee (and I firmly believe it will be Hillary) people can have all the tantrum they want. They can vote however they please, it is their right. But I have a feeling that like the Hillary PUMAs in 2008, they'll footnotes, very tiny ones. It's just not worth it.

4. I'm tempted to try the ignore list feature.

I suppose it will be easy enough to figure out who the worst of the worst are, but it would be very convenient if there was a "bulk-add" feature where entire lists of known troublemakers could be added to someone's list (instead of adding them individually).

Or, does this feature exist already?

6. You can trash GDP completely

Not sure about any 'bulk-add' feature. I don't have anyone on ignore so I'm probably not the person to ask.

7. I only use ignore

during primary season. When it is all over, I go back and take people off ignore.

I have never had such a long list as this year.

I reserve it for people who have used personal insults. Someone actually told me to "fuck off," and the post was allowed to stand. That is how fractured the jury system is here.

I guess we will see what happens when the primaries are over. We will find out if the TOS are enforced.

9. No personal insults yet. Just snark and sarcasm. And repetitiveness.

I can handle all that, I think. But I like your philosophy, and I think it's something that I'm going to try.

If I put someone on ignore, I assume their posts disappear from my view. But I wonder, will my posts also disappear from their view as well?

Or, will they still be able to respond (and insult) as normal, with the exception being that I'll never see it?

There are quite a few characters out there. I do see the entertainment "value" of needling an opponent and sparring over policy, but their comments so often cross the line and are downright ugly. It's unclear to me what they think they can gain from it.
