Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumRaise Your Hands: Who has been banned from the Bernie Group?
I have. I'm sure most of us have. I accidentally posted a response a few months ago without realizing I was posting in their group. There's currently a discussion over there right now about how we are too sensitive and quick to ban. Have they looked in the mirror?

(3,811 posts)I support Bernie Sanders for God's sake. His supporters, on the other hand, can tend to be assholes. The day is soon coming when I will be banned here, I'm sure. Why not?
I like and admire Hillary Clinton. I happen to think Bernie Sander's strong stand against powerful banking and financial interests would be good for the country at this particular time in history.
I defend Hillary Clinton against scurrilous attacks. That was probably what got me banned and labeled as a "fellow traveler" by the Bernie people.

(796 posts)So therefore pretty sure I'm not banned. The one time I accidentally did I self deleted when I realized it was a Bernie group.
A quick glance at the top of the screen to the breadcrumb trail, see the Sanders group, close the window. I don't even bother to read the stuff any longer.

(16,104 posts)I stay out of their 'safe haven' and I wish they would stay out of ours.
Unfortunately, for many of 'them' it has never been about supporting Sanders.
That's why they keep violating our lone sanctuary.

(4,542 posts)If I thought BS was the second coming, what I read from supporters would still have me running away. That's probably true of 70% of the 99% of half the 50% of...

I respect their private space.. I would no more go in there and disrupt like they do then go into someone else's home. In fact I trashed their group a long time ago so I don't even have to see it.

(7,754 posts)very, very, mild. Was banned within minutes. I actually love Bernie but I also like Hillary. I just know I will vote for the Dem so it doesn't matter to me. I think they might be a little over zealous though.

(32,623 posts)It's simple, really: Candidate groups are for supporters of that candidate. Unless it's an honest mistake, I don't know why anyone would want to. A little self control is all it takes.

(30,058 posts)on GD-P, alright with me, it did not even come to the level others have posted in the Hillary group today.

(11,243 posts)Honestly, I really have no desire to post there. It is SUPPOSED to be a place for supporters to post without interference. I do wish there was a warning for groups when you hit the post button like you get in LBN stating the rules of the forum.Cut down on honest sure errors.

(32,342 posts)I've almost posted on their threads, since they brigade their rec count and get silly crap on the front page, but I recheck before posting and have managed to avoid it thus far.
I'm sure I'd be blocked in there, no matter what I posted, but I'm an advocate of the safe haven concept, so their pool, their rules.

(47,465 posts)We don't like pro Bernie's post here and we should not post there, or on O'Malley's.
There are other groups on DU where one should not post what is against the purpose of the group.
This is why we have the DP: P where we can debate Bernie and others.
I think that if one is upsetting members of a group, an alert should be issued and the post hidden. I once did this from one of the groups - and I rarely alert - and the post was hidden because it was a group.
Metric System
(6,048 posts)realized that's where I was posting. It was my mistake. The purpose of my OP was to point out that we are no more thin-skinned or quick to ban than the Bernie group.

(30,730 posts)but it was to voice my respect for him and his supporters. I will not intrude there of they don't want that. I don't think I need to post there any more.

(3,825 posts)I've been at DU since the *selection and I've never seen people who cannot tolerate a different opinion than these folks. Sorry, but you won't convince me with that kind of behavior. I like the man, but not his supporters. I refuse to have such a rigid ideology that I cannot see the forest for the trees. A republican win in a race as important as the presidency goes beyond party, it speaks directly to the health of this country and it's people. Everyone will lose if that happens.

(42,862 posts)I'd previously thought that "hiding" their group would ALSO hide it from this web site's home page. (IT DOES NOT.) So, one of their threads in the "hidden" group was visible to me from the home page, I clicked and commented and was banned.
Oh well. No biggie. Why does this bother them so much? They ban, we ban ... big-whoop ...

(135,425 posts)formulated after he declared his candidacy. This group goes back to the 08 primaries.
Any numbers differences have to do with one group being here for almost eight years, and the other being here less than a year.
I was kicked out of that group for telling the group that coverage of his candidacy announcement WAS being covered (despite those riots in Baltimore that were interfering with the event) by the television media, and providing links to prove what I said. I was the 2nd person banned. I didn't say a word against the candidate, either. They just didn't want that particular fact corrected.
Here's a list of those of us who have run afoul (scroll down a bit):

If they want to shape their membership, that's fine with me. We do the same.

(2,720 posts)That was it for me.
I hope - hope - that it was just my login handle that made them decide to do that. But given how much they're falling into conspiracy theorizing these days, I'm not so convinced.
Angrily not wanting to hear anyone else's opinions is one thing. Completely rejecting reality is, well, flat out being an extremist nutcase.
