The deconstruction of the HRC endorsement is sickening

To see people trying to tear down this wonderful organization because they had the audacity to endorse the "wrong" candidate is horrifying. Almost as much as watching people brag about defunding Planned Parenthood after that endorsement.

It is clear, endorse Clinton and you will be shat upon. And there are still people out on the internet who insist it is Clinton and her supporters that keep an enemies list.

I'm sure I will be getting the PM soon that the OP was alerted upon.

But sometimes there are somethings that just need to be said.

While proclaiming that endorsements don't matter ... followed, quickly, by an announcement of an endorsement for Sanders.

It gets dizzying, at times.

(the organization, not Mrs. Clinton, who I adore) due to their lack of major involvement in any legal battles, A-list-gay attitude (at best I'm a C-list-gay and only if one of my C-list friends is feeling generous), and a large number of reasons. I don't give them any donations.

So for me, this was neutral, but it's not like who endorses you is who you are.

If that were true, Sanders would be pretty much a nobody since he doesn't have much in the way of endorsements. And clearly that's not true...is it.

You can't seriously think we wouldn't be quiet when, once again, they do something that goes at odds with what we feel are the best interests of our community?

I'll actually point out that I think they shouldn't have endorsed in the primary at all. The LGBTQ community is pretty divided politically and this just makes it worse. We're going to be a united front regardless of whoever wins the primary. But please take note of my main point that this reinforces some negative feelings about Hillary within the LGBTQ community, because the Human Rights Campaign is viewed by a lot of people as elitist and only interested with the concerns of white, gay men and corporations.

If anything, Hillary Clinton has a better record on LGBTQ equality than the Human Rights Campaign does. In terms of some accomplishments at least.
