No use talking to the Sanders folks

They are true believers who are more interested in ideals than common sense. They are more interested in reaching for the moon than getting incremental things done to further the cause. The are more interested having a totally ineffective Bernie Sanders in the White House, who talks a good game, but will get nothing done then someone who deal with the Republicans' BS and can take small steps forward. They seem to have little understanding of how government actually works.

Worse yet they seem to be a small minority of mostly decently well off white people who isolated in their communities, out of touch how the average American thinks, and who believe that everyone has their frame of reference. They believe that their lovable but angry little socialist will be embraced by the centralists in this country who decide Presidential elections. They don't understand or simply don't care that their little crusade could hand the White House, both Houses of Congress and the Supreme Court to the Republicans.

They believe that it is more important to vote their convictions than to win. Having a discussion with them is a waste of time and energy.

The gop want to run against him and have their playbook ready.

They honestly believe these polls will hold for Sanders in the general. We have no idea how he will hold up in the face of the gop. They will be relentless and cruel. Hillary has been treating him with kid gloves but to save the country and party she needs to take those gloves off.

to get Bernie elected.

They know, just like we do that Trump would win in a landslide over him. They also know Hillary would kick his ass.

Its amazing that people who call themselves liberals can't see what the republicans are doing and the even welcome it!

empty promises that have little chance of succeeding. Just look at the difficulty President Obama has had dealing with Congress to get things done. I also think it's telling that none of Sanders colleagues have endorsed him. That's in stark contrast to 2008 when Hillary and Obama both garnered support from their Senate colleagues.

And I'm sick of it. Things just get worse.

Finally I have the candidate I've been waiting for.

I'm for Bernie all the way.

his opponent. Go campaign positively for your candidate, and try to avoid the toxicity that is permeating the Bernie verse when it comes to making a positive case. It shouldn't be hard to make a positive case for a candidate you believe in. And I hope that no matter who gets the nomination you will support them, because if we do not have someone to stop the GOP, it's going to get a whole lot worse for everyone.

ANY Republican can smoke Bernie Sanders like a cheap cigar. Hillary Clinton is the ONLY option for keeping those maniacs out of the White House.

And, yes, having a discussion with a Bernie club member is a waste of time and energy.

But just Thursday night an associate of my husband mentioned he was wondering whether to vote for Trump or Sanders, and several other guys agreed. I have read posts that claim a connection, but now I have a real-world one in Pierce County Washington State. Sanders is not seen as a democrat at all, but an independent who will revert back to being an independent once he wins (won't happen thankfully).

Luckily, some Bernie flubs are starting to make that clearer to the undecideds. Like calling Planned Parenthood part of the establishment. It's not like he'd be able to get medicare for all in at the same time as letting the GOP shut down PP.

BTW - Nate Silver has Hillary at an 85% chance of winning Iowa now. 1/23/2016

(Said the Bernie people early on).

Now I'm saying it. Every time they debate, Mrs. Clinton's percentages hike a bit. The more people see of Bernie, the less they like him.

Bernie is too, but I think it emphasizes his limits. He's a one note candidate. Hillary is more well-rounded and practical. I think that's evident.

Not to say I wouldn't vote for either of them or O'Malley, if nominated. Almost any Dem over Con. But I love Hillary!

because two is more than one; you never stop dreaming when there's even the slimmest chance you can get those two birds if you'll only let go of the one you already have in the hand; birds in the bush sing louder and prettier than the one in your hand; loose birds in the bush are more exciting and unpredictable because you still have to find a way to catch them, which adds to the excitement.

Me? I'd rather have the security and peace of mind of that one bird in the hand. Then again, I'm not much for:

The media wasn't fair.
It's the Hillary voters' fault.
He was overwhelmed by the billionaires and their money.
It's Obama's fault.

Just watch.

The professional left is at it again. They do not want Hillary and will go with anyone who is not her.

The difference is, Bernie is NOT Obama and this is NOT 2008. Democrats are the incumbent party.
You better make the case why you deserve to continue, not change.

2008-Obama, 2016-Bernie.

As the OP said, they are mostly white and affluent. They have to time to cry about the ills of the world. They
will mostly do just fine without any changes to the system.

I will say one more thing, the affluent liberals who are activists, are quite hypocritical. They dream of a socialist state, all the while they are the product of a mixed to free-leaning market.
