Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a solid lead in Iowa, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released Friday, with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) trailing by 8 points.
The PPP poll showed support for Clinton at 48 percent among Iowans likely to attend the Democratic caucuses, while Sanders stood at 40 percent. These results indicate a slightly wider lead for Clinton than when the same poll was conducted earlier this month, showing Clinton at 46 percent to Sanders 40 percent

(17,865 posts)I just noticed a weather advisory for Monday (Council Bluffs), especially Monday evening. I'll caucus anyway since it is only a few blocks away. But conventional wisdom says, for what it's worth, that a lower turnout favors Hillary.
I think she would win Iowa anyway, and the latest polls seem to support her win.

@ppppolls Bernie has 1000s upon 1000s showing up and Hillary has a few hundred. This poll has to be wrong.
Because *that's* how polls work

On Clinton enthusiasm, 88% in new PPP IA poll say they're committed to voting for her; 74% for Sanders http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2016/01/clinton-still-leads-iowa-omalley-backers-could-help-sanders.html

A lot of DEMOCRATS are angry at the misrepresentation and lies being hurled toward Hillary, and when the primaries are over, and Hillary is the Democratic nominee, some of these folks scratch their heads and wonder why, the answer will be looking at them right in the mirror.
Let them keep the ugliness going. They have been doing this against President Obama for some time. When about a year ago a thread calling the President every name in the book was presented, the number of recommends on that thread spoke volumes.
Now they are doing the same thing with Hillary. When some thought it clever to use the "c" word against her, quite a few tried to justify the use of that word against Hillary, even using the ridiculous argument that it was common usage in the UK, "so it was ok to use". They have called Hillary a war criminal, blamed her for the murder of Ambassador Stevenson, and have an affinity to latch onto every republican talking point against Hillary.
When there are posts that link extreme right wing anti-abortion sites to protest the PP endorsement, they should be embarrassed.
When a person or organization's site is spammed because they endorsed Hillary, they should be embarrassed.
For a candidate who said he would run a clean honest campaign, it seems like some of his supporters didn't get the message, and there will be consequences because of that.
