Wow. HRC absolutely ran away with it tonight. 73% to 26%. One of the widest margins in history. This is a serious post. The main reason I am posting this is because I am ashamed and disgusted by some of the filth spewed by my fellow Bernie supporters on DU. In fact, today on one of my OPs someone said that they would "rather see Trump in the White House than Clinton." I alerted and fortunately a sensible jury voted to hide as it was a clear TOS violation. These past few weeks I've been quite a pain in the ass to fellow Bernie supporting DUers. I've most definitely shot down more posts from other Bernie supporters than any other group. Even yesterday, I sent an alert to the administrators about a post that compared Hillary to Hitler. (Thats right, Hitler! ) Unlike some of my peers, my support for Bernie does NOT come with hatred for Hillary. I love Hillary, always have. I support Bernie, I adore Bernie, but I still love Hillary. I would be happy with her in the WH. Now I won't gloss over the fact that I have some policy disagreements with her, but thats not what this post is about. I would like to formally apologize on the behalf of the Bernie supporters that spew ridiculous, disgusting, and sometimes just plain stupid garbage on this site. Congrats on South Carolina and see you on Super Tuesday, Good Luck!

(1,446 posts)I feel the same as you, that I would be happy with either in the WH. I hope we can all come together to make that a reality once we settle on a nominee.

(31,170 posts)I like Bernie too, so it saddens me to see what is happening in GDP. All we can do is try keep the vitriol in check as much as possible, and hope the worst of it will die down soon. I suspect we have a few people working against the party and deliberately making people angry.

(6,537 posts)I would guess that you are over 50, or even 60, and have seen enough elections to know what hill to die on (pun intended). There isn't much daylight between Hillary and Bernie; I wish more people would understand that And even in their worst moments, either of them is miles beyond any Republican challenger.

(6,537 posts)You're a keeper....a good one. And if Bernie is our nominee, I would hurt for Hillary, but I would vote for Bernie with no regrets. (Though I hope it will be Hillary....)

(213 posts)Very gracious. And I agree with other posts up to a point. Philosophically, there is little difference between Hillary and Bernie; however, Hillary's experience, her foreign policy expertise and her Democratic connections will make her a better president. And while gender shouldn't matter, we are long overdue for a woman president. If Bernie were to win the nomination, I will vote for him, but somewhat with a sigh, because my choices will be-- just some more white men. Like all I've had to choose from all my life until Barack Obama. So, if Hillary does not win the nomination, I will vote for the person running as a Democrat, but without passion, only duty.

(4,507 posts)every time, it's always "this is the most important election in our lives" - well, this is really the most important election of my lifetime.
If we can somehow come together and win the Presidency and the Senate, for the first time in FIFTY YEARS we could have a forward-looking Court. The menace of the reactionary Court has existed LONGER THAN I'VE BEEN ALIVE. That's the case for so many of us. I think people just don't realize what a positive effect on all of our lives this change could have. We've been pummeled by five decades of terrible rulings - it's so hard to remember that there was a time when the Court was a force of good. That time could finally - at last - be right there for the taking in November, and if we played it right we could get a solid 20 YEARS of a left-leaning Court! Now *that* would protect the coalition of the ascendent. And then we could see some real progress in this country!
