Are you getting a ton of jury requests?

After a long hiatus, I've become active on DU in the past couple of weeks (mostly in the Hillary group), and I've gotten 7 or 8 jury requests in that time. That seems like a lot! (And in most cases, the alerts are completely frivolous, I only voted to hide one that was obvious spam).

Is this happening to others?

and I can see the bias in the jury system toward Sanders and against Hillary.

A similar post by Hillary supporter would get hidden, while Sanders supporter will have an easy sail.

I took a post from the other group, replaced Sander's name with Clinton's and made an. It was hidden in 5 minutes, While the other one has been up for 2 weeks and almost 200 recs. Just to see if that was true.

What you say is true

I had the same experience initially (long hiatus, lots of jury requests on returning), but for the price of speaking my mind they got me off the jury list, and quick. 4000+ posts with maybe one(?) hide among them, and then like 3 hides in as many days.

I, like many others here, have been driven down to 0% chance of serving on a jury.

It is depressing to see how many regular posters in this group are down to 0% chance of serving on a jury.

Yet another way the current jury system is broken - if you are a HRC supporter, you are very unlikely to be judged by a jury of your peers.

It's okay - Skinner is sleeping through this all. He'll get to it at some point in July. Once most of us have been driven away from the site.

My probability of jury service has dropped considerably, but it's still high enough for that.

I tend to vote to hide anything that violates the TOS. Perhaps not surprisingly, very few of those actually ever get hidden.

I'm starting to run out of patience, but that's OK. If I go, I devote that time to the campaign and the trolls lose even more.

Someone pointed out that one reference was more recent than another, and it was "interpreted" (I use the word very loosely) as being hurtful and insensitive.

Normally I'll get 2-3 requests to serve in a month. I always figured that is because, even though I visit this site pretty much daily, I don't linger. I'm in and out 2-3 times a day.

For the past several weeks the requests have increased to as many as a dozen in a week, and as you say, the vast bulk of them are pure unadulterated horse manure. Unbelievably childish, moronic alerts.

I think, lately I've served on juries with some of the same people. Over the last week, in the comments of the "verdicts" I've seen it said, a few times, that those making these ridiculous alerts should be given time outs. I whole heartily agree, sadly. It's bad. Something needs done soon.

Almost all of them in GD-P and at least half of those nothing but alert stalking.

The only reason I keep accepting jury requests is to try and reduce the number of stupid hides.
