It's official, I will not extend another olive branch to Sanders supporters again. (Hillary GROUP)

I guess I should have learned my lesson, but I'm a hard learner I suppose.

Background: Yesterday I received some incredible news and in the spirit of trying to pay it forward, I extended what I thought was just a genuinely nice post for Bernie's supporters. It was slapped back in my face.

I think Sanders is good guy, but his supporters here on DU are not like their candidate, which is a shame. He's losing the nomination and I think his supporters can clearly read the writing on the wall at this point. I get that their tone is probably coming from a place of anger and disappointment, but why burn down other people trying to be polite to you?

I don't get that.

People can say all they want, "It's not genuine" or "It's a ploy to get our votes", but when someone writes something of kindness, why not accept it for what it is? Is that really so hard?

.... and from what I'm seeing, thanks to some Bernie supporters, his campaign has transformed into nothing but a long, drawn out, and boring Hillary hate temper tantrum. I do believe however, that the greater majority will not be swayed by an unrealistic, and flawed ideology once Hillary is the nominee, and we head into the general election. The crying, moaning, pissing, and groaning you hear does not translate into large numbers. It's just loud.

A lot of them just recently signed up for DU accounts. Strange is that they post stories from far right websites like brietbart, freebeacon, washington times, drudgereport, newsmax, etc.

and it's going to get worse. They're in denial now, but once it sinks in that Sanders is going to lose, all hell will break loose. This is a very angry bunch.

It's all good, I just need to back off of trying to extend a hand. When you get responses like I received, it's discouraging and I'd like it not to affect my demeanor to the rest of Sander's supporters.

It's not all of their fault that some of them are being so rude.

I just want to scream at all these anti Hillary posts but it's just not worth it. The posts about ALL the dems leaving the party are just stupid... So not voting is the answer? Anyone who doesn't vote doesn't have the right to complain is my feeling...

Most are really like children and I guess fit Trump's bill... Bernie doesn't deserve supporters like this. What if Hillary chose Bernie was a running mate, what then??

I was accused of not being genuine or wanting their vote. Neither is true.. They never planned on voting for a Dem. The whole issue is not about Bernie winning the nomination, it's about destroying the DNC establishment. Live and learn. Never let an INDY run on a Dem ticket.

I've mostly given up on engaging. Nothing good comes of it.

I'm trying to stay out of it, because GDP is basically the BS group and I give up.

I've come to realize that I'm not going to convince anyone of anything there.

I even responded to a "no one has any reason why *not* to vote for Bernie" challenge over in GDP, and when I said that it was my deeply held belief that he would be a *terrible* president and that I'd be glad to explain why, but that it was probably not worth doing, no one took me up on the offer. This is truly what I think. I've thought about it a long time. I certainly considered the siren song of Bernie and I rejected it after sitting down with my thoughts.

That forum certainly isn't a place for discussion, I can tell you that.

I think most of us will coalesce around the eventual nominee, who, at this point, seems extremely likely to be Sec Clinton.

I predict Sen. Sanders will be asked to deliver a prime time speaking spot at the convention and will work to heal the rift.

It's not like this is the first time there's been a fierce nomination process. We will get through this.
