Really? Tell me how Hillary is winning the popular vote if that is true? Where are these millions of voters?

(14,881 posts)Another factor may be that many democrats may be voting in the Republican primaries (in the states that allow a person to matriculate from one party to another on election day) to vote for anyone but Trump. He's offended so many that they may just figure they can vote for the democratic nominee in the general election.
Just a guess really but I've not heard anyone speculating that might be the case in many instances.

(6,537 posts)And millions are leaving the Democratic party? Because they aren't progressive enough? Puhleeze! Are they just staying home then? So much for their political commitment, or they could vote Green or some other party on the ballot. And have their vote not count one iota. I think they wanted to commandeer the Democratic party the same way the conservative movement and the tea party took control of the Repubs. Unfortunately for them, we're not all that unhappy, racist, sexist or authoritarian. It didn't work.

(15,366 posts)Hillary has >1.5 million more votes than Bernie. So far. That total will continue to increase.
Does that not mean anything in a democracy?
Some do not seem to realize how close they are to fascism.

(3,212 posts)Some Independents, uncommitted students, and a few new Democrats, who might have voted Democrat, but were mislead by their bubble, and are heart-broken.
Some Independents who were planning on voting Green or another third party anyway.
And a lot of GOP operatives muddling up the Democratic primary.
But most Democrats and most Independents will come aboard rather than have a Republican.

(879 posts)It's a narrative BS supporters are pushing, as a threat, and a narrative the media is happy to play up for "horse race", but there is no evidence of this.
Time after time in exit polls, the Republicans are splintered, and the Democrats by a majority say they'd be satisfied with either candidate. There is general happiness among the democratic electorate. You can see it with the tone of the debate last night. They agree on a lot, and you almost expect them to high five at points.
Also, the other narrative is this "Reagan Democrats" will be drawn to Trump because of his anti-immigration stance. Yes, because people that cheer at "Mexicans are racists" are really the type that voted for Obama in the last election. MSNBC talked about the militias in Michigan, and how they would vote for Trump in a general election. Yes, because they were otherwise going to vote democratic. You remember the militia wing of the democratic party?
Mitt Romney won the white vote 60-39. That was larger than Reagan in 1980. Demographics is what changed. The map gets bluer every year on a national level. We're in great shape. Panic aside.
