Some Sanders Supporters Really Don't Get It

So, I had an exchange with a Sanders supporter who refuses to vote for Hillary Clinton. I retorted that the poster was then as good as voting for Trump. He replied that not voting for Hillary is not a vote for Trump with some rudimentary flawed logic:

0 + 0 = 0
0 - 0 = 0

Now, I'm a programmer. It's what I do for a living and it pays me extremely well, so I broke it down in simple programming terms that even a non-programmer can understand:

It is when you add up the votes. Let's break it down in programming terms...

trumpVotes = 1000
hillaryVotes = 999
ponyUpVotes = 0

if (trumpVotes > hillaryVotes) {
print("Trump wins!&quot ;
}

Rather than voting for Hillary because your candidate lost, Trump wins.

Why is this so hard for some of them to understand and they would rather have toddler like tantrums? Even if Bernie wins, I will vote for him despite my disagreements and distaste for his supporters. A Trump victory is infinitely worse than Bernie could ever be. I've long thought liberals put the community ahead of their own selfish motivations or feelings. That's why we're fine with more taxes to pay for things like schools, infrastructure, and healthcare. If we take the attitude of some of these Sanders supporters, we're no better than Trumpets in their selfishness.

Those who don't participate, at best, don't care.
I doubt their convictions about anything.

All the Naderities I knew in 2000 were trust fund babies. I suspect they rode out the Bush Administration just fine.

I think a lot of these folks migrated to Bernie from the Rand Paul campaign.....Like H.A. Goodman. The berniedude that refuses to vote for Hillary and says the Repubs need to win so we can burn it down to rebuild it. I'm paraphrasing. He writes for Salon.

There is a phrase my mom liked about cutting off noses despite faces that is applicable here.... Some will come around before the GE. Others, won't, but we will win anyway. And then they will complain soooooo vociferously about how no one cares what they think and we are ignoooooring their isssues waaaaahhhh

and self-righteous that they think it makes perfect sense to hold their breath if they don't get their way...the country be damned. I hope they don't think we care if they turn blue and pass out on the floor.

Most will coalesce around the Democratic nominee. Some will not.

As stated above those who will not are not Democrats and never were Democrats. People who will not compromise are suitable for a coalition. We don't want them. They will drag.us down like the teabaggers are destroying the Republican Party.

this is what happens when votes are withheld. How much has gotten passed in Congress in the last few years, they was not really progressive, progressive ideas are the ones this bunch wants to block.

The Naderites, Paulistas and other fringe elements won't. If they live in deep blue states, they would cause as much annoyance as flies on a cow. The only ones we should be concerned about are those living in swing states.
