(10,870 posts)She seems very relaxed.
Much better at reading TelePrompTer than she used to be.

(10,870 posts)Very appropriate for the setting.
Calm, reasoned, may I say very Presidential.
And, she's my second choice.

(41 posts)Listening to this speech is like filling my ears full of needles so far, as expected. My father is deeply against the Palestinian genocide (and it is a genocide), and thusly backs Bernie over Hillary. I can't make an argument, its a fair point.
What I hope is that Hillary is just being a good politician. That there is no benefit to be had being transparent about our disagreements with Israel, so we say everything they want to here, continue to make the actions which benefit us, along with peace in the middle east, while justifying our actions as being in Israel's best interest (as they are).
What I would still like to hear is some remark on that Israeli meeting with the republicans. That should not be tolerated ever.

(15,366 posts)Not at all.
I am appalled by the Netanyahu government's policies towards Israeli Arabs and Palestinians, whether Christian or Muslim, its meddling in US foreign policy, and its continual fomenting of discord in the ME among all countries there (an easy task to be sure). I am also appalled by AIPAC's encouragement of that government's policies.
That said, no serious US politician running for President can ignore this constituency, especially if we are to have any success in working towards peace in the ME.
Walk away
(9,494 posts)...behavior in the Middle East. However, things just seem to get worse when we don't keep them close. The US has a lot more influence on creating a lasting two state solution if Israel trusts us and is closely tied to us.
I think the Israel/Palestine situation was missed opportunity of the Obama presidency. I think Clinton is the one to bring them back into the fold.

(3,967 posts)Trick question.
Anyway, Hillary did explain her ideas about how to manage the situation. You can't manage it with ponies.

Thunderous applause.

The same candidate who won't be in Washington for the Town Hall tonight.
Hint: It isn't Clinton, Cruz, Kasich, or Trump.

(3,964 posts)I'm pro-Palestinian and support the BDS movement. Unfortunately, in America politics, it's political suicide if you "anti-Israel." So, I'll give Secretary Clinton a pass on this issue.

(34,438 posts)The anti-Clinton crowd can't seem to make up its mind. Her speech showed that she's a neocon through and through. Oh wait - it showed that she was pandering, which I thought meant she was telling someone something she did not believe in order to appeal to them. These seem directly contradictory.
