Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumMSNBC is all in for Bernie. Rachel Maddow tonight:
She began the program with 10 minutes of Bernie. Film of a bird landing on Bernie's podium and how great it was and shots of the crowd screaming and applauding and then for effect, a repeat of the bird at his podium and Bernie's reactions. Then a group of Bernie supporters, then a story on how the Seattle elections board has been swamped with caucus absentee ballots when usually only a few hundred requests are received. Then a shot of Bernie speaking. Next the Hawaii situation and how the Congresswoman who has endorsed Bernie is cutting special TV ads for him, and Bernie is heavily favored to sweep the caucus. Then on to Alaska and how Hillary is ignoring it while Bernie's wife is campaigning (she's shown speaking) and she is speaking at another event tomorrow. And the wrapup - a big, big weekend for Bernie is forthcoming. All the while, streaming at the bottom of the screen is a promo for a live broadcast of a Bernie rally at 10 pm eastern.
MSNBC night time is all in for Bernie. First, Chris Hayes, then Maddow and a wrap-up with O'Donnell.
I can't wait for the race to turn eastward to NY, PA, etc.
Edit update: With 5 minutes left in the broadcast, Rachel is now promoting the MSNBC live broadcast of Bernie's rally in Seattle with live shots of the long lines of people waiting to get in. Rachel tells us that tonight's rally will be 'really, really big' while "Awaiting Sanders Rally' streams across the bottom of the screen.

(51,512 posts)Did it ever occur to you that Hillary supporters DO know Sanders "policies," but are not impressed? In the few areas where he differs from Hillary, he takes an unrealistic stand that has no chance of getting through Congress. Hillary wants to move us forward, not tilt at windmills.

(34,405 posts)soon larger states (e.g., PA, NY) will have their primaries, and I don't think he will do nearly as well there.
I hope Skinner et al. will have been able to implement their site policies by then, as I imagine the vitriol will be flowing.
I actually think it is to the Dems' advantage for both candidates to continue. Then MSNBC etc. will have something to cover and there will be more free publicity. It's too bad viewers are far more interested in affair rumors and name calling than they are in actual voting records and proposals.

(711 posts)and MSNBC gets bombarded with nasty emails if they don't do some "up pieces" on Sanders? God, I'd hate to be them.
They know it's over for Sanders, too. It's just a matter of time, so it doesn't hurt to be generous at this point.

(711 posts)MSNBC is going to get back to normal once Sanders concedes. That won't be too long. I honestly think they're just trying not to alienate the Sanders folks. They need millennial viewers. After the early April primaries, we're going to see a shift in everyone's attitude. We just have to get through the next few weeks.

(40,416 posts)Bernie getting a help from a little birdie must come off as a light moment in today's hyper-partisan, intrapartisan warfare.
It is a moment where we can all lighten up.
After all, it was a little bird.
Enjoy it. I am sure Hillary Clinton would do so. As she should. As Bernie did.
Lighten up folks. This was a win for Democrats everywhere. I care that it helped Bernie. But more importantly, I want it to help Democrats, which is what I am about.
It is one of the big reasons why I will support the Democratic nominee, no matter who it is. And I know that that little bird, and Bernie Sanders would agree.
As Winston Churchill said, "Keep buggering on."

I'm going to have to block you now.. Nobody gets to come in here and tell us to "lighten up" anymore.
I want him to fade away. And, the supporters he has, that claim they will never vote for anyone but Bernie. They all need to just go away.

I was not too fond of the network after the vilified Hillary in 2008. At this point I cannot watch them anymore. Besides, they
are talking 24/7 about Trump. I have heard enough.
They can interview backbencher Senator Bernie Sanders. Let us see the ratings they get then.

(51,512 posts)There's multiple posts on DU about that bird being a "sign from God" that Bernie will win (never mind that Bernie appears to be agnostic, LOL).
Whenever I see birds flying around in big arenas, Costco, the airport, I feel really bad for them. They obviously do NOT want to be there, can't find any food or water and are desperate to get out.
When you look at the bird in the video everyone is posting, you see it has landed right next to the clear water bottle on Bernie's podium and appears to peck at the bottle to attempt to get at the water. When it can't get to the water it flies away -- probably terrified by the sudden roar of the crowd. Who knows how long the poor thing has been trapped in that arena--it must be thirsty/dehydrated. There is nothing cute or touching about this scene. To me, it is sad for the bird--but then I have empathy for animals...and I'm not a superstitious idiot who thinks everything is a "sign."

(1,968 posts)Although I just assumed that Nature was flipping him the bird.
But seriously. That is NOT a normal action for a bird, that's an act of desperation from an animal that's in dire straights.

(19,581 posts)First, hi fellow Clinton supporters. I haven't been on DU for a long while, but lately, I have been checking in to see what is going on with Secretary Clinton.
And, I have to agree, MSNBC had been all Sander's all the time. But, this is there only chance left to gain momentum to raise money and carry him forward. I don't personally think it will work, in the long haul though. However, I would of loved to have seen him eliminated entirely by now. He was underestimated in the beginning of the primaries, as he knew he would be, and he has gotten away without being vetted at all. There are now people voting for Sanders that really don't know what he is peddling and have been feed an homogenized version him, by his worshipers.
Well, thanks for allowing me to vent. I needed that.
Her Sister
