Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumToday's gonna be Bernie's best day of the primary.
He'll probably net some 30-40 delegates, thanks to Bernie-friendly caucuses in three Bernie-friendly states. After that come WY and WI, and my guess is that after those five contests, Hillary will be about 250 delegates ahead.
And that's great news, because that will be Bernie's high-watermark. After that comes NY on April 19, which goes Hillary, hopefully by a large margin, followed by a bunch of mostly Hillary-friendly or neutral states.
Of course, it would be great if Hillary pulls off Hawaii, or keeps Washington close, but in the big picture, even if Bernie has a yuge day today, it won't change much. Hillary's path to the nomination is clear.

(20,709 posts)In Alaska and Washington, he's at about 95%, so if we're gonna bring home one state today, it's probably gonna by yours!

(297,154 posts)So, some kind of sea change?
Darn these people falling for the BS.

(20,709 posts)I don't know the polling numbers, but I'm pretty sure they aren't that drastic.
Cha
(297,154 posts)around those odds?
DanTex
(20,709 posts)but I'd sure love to see her come out with a victory.

(297,154 posts)I haven't seen any polling on Hawaii.
I hope so!
stopbush
(24,396 posts)that Bernie does better in caucuses than does Hillary.
They seem to forget the caucus results from IO & NV.
Didn't Bernie beat those odds in Michigan? So yeah, after all those are only about 2 to 1 odds.

(67,782 posts)...Hawaii, but lose in both Alaska (who cares?) and Washington. The closer the better - a win means little, the margin of the win is mor important.
This is probably the biggest "lull" in Clinton's campaign - as pointed out, in a couple of weeks she'll start drawing away again.

(3,212 posts)If we win Hawaii or if there are problems, I just hope the Bernie fans don't blame NSA robot spy sparrows, stealing their voter registrations.
Oh well.

(4,035 posts)We know how to be realistic, unlike some. I would advise all Hillary supporters to avoid GD: P for a while after the results come in. The unrealistic expectations (read delusions) will be in full force after he wins.

(28,270 posts)So no problems.
He can win the whole weekend and he still loses the primary BIGTIME!
Its all downhill after this weekend for Bernie. It will be amusing to see his acolytes trying to spin it as a huge comeback on the way to victory or something

(16,104 posts)Although we didn't hear it much, sweeping 5 states when 3 were predicted for Bernie - that was unexpected!
No matter what the results today end up - Hillary WILL BE one step closer to the nomination, and Bernie will most definitely still be well behind!
Sweep your caucus room, Cha!
Prove that we can be just as annoying!!!

(23,650 posts)For a lot of millennials, supposedly BS's big voting block, Saturday is a day to kick back, sleep late, watch sports on TV. Lots of things to do. How many want to spend hours at a caucus? Maybe they'll just get too caught up in their own lives, they won't bother to show up.

(9,494 posts)that's fine with me. It will be interesting to see it happen. I can wait until New York State to get mine!

(1,353 posts)Which would translate into Hillary keeping it going? Close results would be a win in my book, no matter how hard the BS'ers try to spin a "turning point"...
And how can a poll put him up 1pt anyway? Is it just an attempt to make it seem close? Like MSNBC giving Bernie so much air time...seemed transparent...they don't really believe it's close, they just want people to keep watching.

What I can't stand is the inevitable overreach we're going to see from his supporters, as if this wasn't the way it was expected to play out.
