Sanders and Clinton camps in talks for New York debate

The Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton campaigns are in talks to schedule another Democratic debate before the New York primary.

"There are private conversations happening, so there will likely be an announcement in the next few days about a new debate," a Clinton campaign senior adviser said Wednesday. Chief Sanders strategist Tad Devine confirmed that discussions are taking place between the rival camps.

They also both need to address the global terror situation. Bernie Sanders needs to be put through the foreign policy paces before the general if he expects to be the nominee. He can't just wave around the Iraq vote, mention Kissinger, and growl about the millionaires and billionaires. Not during a GE debate against any republican.

7. I really hate that Sanders wants her at his beck and call

He insists on taking charge and setting terms.
Of course, being the gracious genuine article of a person she is, she will embrace the opportunity to once again show how presidential she is.
He is a male chauvinist for sure. His new expensive suits and haircuts don't change the man. No doubt his finger will be waving at her the whole time while he makes disgusted faces while she is speaking. He will try to tear her down rather than reason or nuance his position on issues.

10. Really, though, it's Joel Benenson's fault. He should have stuck to the script.

Leading campaigns traditionally have success shrugging off stunts like this from trailing challengers by citing the busy campaigning schedule. And Benenson did, at first. Then he tried to link the debate to something he said early about the tone, and fumbled everything.

If Benenson had just said, "We're too busy and it's too late to re-arrange our schedule," this wouldn't be an issue right now. Everyone makes mistakes, but that was a sorta-big one.
