Related: About this forumMADURO calls PSUV paramilitary forces to repress protests
It was during the military parade last wednesday. He asked the "Chavez Battle Units" (UBCH), his party militia, to act against protesters.
Notably, Maduro called for the same "battle units" that were called by Ameliach, the Valencia state governor, to "prepare for a crushing counterattack", just before 8 protesters were shot and Genesis Carmona killed, in Valencia.
Here, Maduro repeats the order later that day:
Since then, these UBCH have been all over Caracas, hunting protesters, even inside residential buildings, and destroying barricades.
Here, the "colectivos" enter a building next to the National Police forces in Los Ruices, Caracas. They break their property, catch one or two protesters while the police passively watches them.
Here you can see them destroying a barricade in La California, Caracas, throwing stones at the people's houses (wednesday):
Here, they burn a car in an "opposition" neighborhood and stop the firemen from intervening. "Let it burn!". Once again, the police forces are standing there with them.

(2,010 posts)Many GNB are refusing to act in coordination with the PSUV colectivos. There's a rumor about the double killing two days ago (one GNB and one member of a colectivo) that says the GNB shot the red shirt when he started shooting at protesters and then got killed by another red shirt.

(62,269 posts)Chavez diffused this kind of thing so quickly. You'd be surprised if it lasted a week.
Maduro is so incompetent it's a joke.
