Henrique Capriles Radonski, Venezuelan opposition leader and Miranda state governor, reported on the murder of Enrique Franceschi, the mayor of Arismendi municipality, Río Caribe, Sucre state, east Venezuela.

"I have been informed now from Sucre state of the murder of our dear brother, mayor Enrique Franceschi. What a tragedy, namesake!," he posted on his Twitter account @hcapriles.

César Rincones, a deputy to the National Assembly for Sucre state, specified that the dead body of Franceschi was found approximately at 5:00 a.m. by a maintenance worker. The mayor lived there together with his wife, grandmother and five-year-old son. All of them were in Caracas.

According to preliminary versions, a commando-style group stormed in Francheschi's home and stabbed him to death.
