VENEZUELAN socialists vowed on Thursday to oppose the opposition-controlled parliaments ban on images of late president Hugo Chavez and national liberator Simon Bolivar.
At a rally outside the National Assembly in Plaza Bolivar, hundreds of red-clad government supporters led by Caracas Mayor Jorge Rodriguez swore loyalty to Mr Chavez and Bolivar.

President Nicolas Maduro and his new cabinet visited Mr Chavezs mausoleum, recently transferred to a trust to keep it out of opposition hands, to lend support to the campaign. Chavistas were outraged by order to remove from the assembly portraits of the two former leaders on Wednesday.
I dont want to see Chavez or Maduro, Mr Ramos said. Take it all to Miraflores the presidential palace or the trash.

(2,035 posts)They suffered a tremendous loss and they're in denial about it, and instead of addressing the country's problems, they decide they're gonna paint more and more Chavez-fetishing imagery. And then they wonder why they lost the support of the majority. So fucking pathetic. And first-world Marxists like you applauding these actions makes this even more appaling.

(2,035 posts)Same thing probably happened when they were being told that Chavez was "alive and well" by the Chavista leadership, only to have their dreams shattered when the truth finally came out.
