Evidence Proves Political Campaign Against Bolivian President
La Paz, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) Media manipulation and lies related with the Zapata case are revealed today, confirming the reiterated denunciation of authorities about a campaign carried out by the right to tarnish the image of Bolivian president Evo Morales.
Government minister Carlos Romero said the revelations are part of the opposition conspiracy against the government.
The case Gabriela Zapata was used as an instrument of political conspiracy, organized by the opposition against the Government, and particularly against President Evo Morales, Romero told Radio Panamericana last night.
He said it was a conspiracy because it took place days before the constitutional referendum on February 21st to partially modify the Constitution. The referendum consulted citizens about the possibility of enabling the president and the vice-president to run for another term.
