Senators who voted in favor of suspending Rousseff want something in return to follow through with the impeachment process.

Brazil’s interim president Michel Temer is distributing political favors in exchange for support over the final vote to impeach Dilma Rousseff, according to news outlet Estadao.

Lawmakers are trading in their votes for government support in local disputes, positions inside the government, and even the command of the country's largest corporate funder, BNDES.

Temer met with senators in Jarabu Palace, with most of the meetings held outside the official agenda.

"Temer is buying the party. It’s an explicit buying of support," said Senator Roberto Requiao from the same party as Temer, the PMDB, although Requiao is against impeaching Rousseff.
