Venezuela government says worker wounded in shooting on state farm, TV crew suspected
Associated Press, Published: August 30
CARACAS, Venezuela A worker at a state-supported farm was wounded in a shooting and a member of a TV crew is suspected, the Venezuelan government said Thursday.
The incident involved a TV crew from the channel Globovision, which takes a critical stance toward President Hugo Chavezs government.
Vice President Elias Jaua said in a statement that the shooting happened Tuesday at a farming project in north-central Aragua state.
A Globovision crew entered the farm and was approached by a group of workers who demanded that they leave, the statement said. A farm equipment operator was then wounded in the neck by a gunshot, which Jaua said was apparently fired by a member of the TV crew.

(62,269 posts)They're going to make this false shit up so they can shut down Globovision since Globovision is the only news station that covers Capriles' speeches in full (you'd think in a country that attempts to have "equal media" the other stations would cover the rival candidates speeches but that does not happen).

But because this happened at a farm where Globovision went to film their dilapidated state they are politicizing it. Even President Chavez is getting in on the action. It is completely surreal.
What the Chavistas are leaving out TV crew was attacked by the farmers for filming. You'll note that the scapegoat is a crewman that is already being sought for arrest. Meanwhile Berroterán Alexander, a well known Chavista that tried to assassinate Capriles walks free. It's obvious how arbitrary the law and justice is in Venezuela. Journalists should be protected, not harassed, and abused violently when they are trying to report.
