A professional ballroom dancer who lost a leg in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings has scaled Ecuador's third-highest mountain.

Adrianne Haslet, who ran the entire 26.2-mile race last spring, has now reached the summit of 18,996ft Volcan Cayambe with a team of climbers from the Range of Motion Project.

The non-profit group helps provide prosthetic limbs to people around the world who do not have access to them.

The expedition reached the summit of the snow-capped mountain on Sunday. Ms Haslet tweeted: "I can hardly put it into words."
