Cubans Support its Government Close to the US Naval Base

Caimanera, Cuba, Jun 29 (ACN) Expressions in support of the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government on Washington's new policy towards Cuba was held in Hatibonico, town bordering the illegally occupied US Naval Base in Guantanamo during the launching of the new edition of the La Calle magazine.

The present edition of the publication of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) dedicated to the eternal leader Fidel Castro, included articles regarding the different facades of the life of the Comandante.

The local residents defended Cuba's position before the hostile measures announced by US President Donald Trump and recalled the permanent example of dignity that Fidel always had in face of constant threats from different US administrations.

During the presentation of the magazine, Joaquin Toirac Adames recalled the marginalization and poverty that existed in the town of Caimanera, period of prostitution and procuring, which was encouraged by US marines that visited the region prior to 1959.

The researcher also denounced the economic situation in that eastern province due to Cuba's incapacity of using the Bay of Guantanamo, one of the main natural richness in the eastern region, due to the illegal occupation of part of its territory by the military enclave.
