Venezuela Regime Change Project Revealed

OpEdNews Op Eds 8/3/2017 at 14:22:49

By David William Pear

When the U.S.A. wanted a regime change it used to be done in secret by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), especially when that country had a democratically elected government such as Iran (1953), Guatemala (1954), Chile (1973), Nicaragua (1980's), Haiti (2006), Honduras (2009), Ukraine (2014) and Syria, where the bloody project is still raging, the body count mounting, and millions of refuges are homeless.

In the last few decades the U.S. has grown bolder in its regime change projects. What used to be done secretly is now unabashedly done in plain sight. The 2017 Venezuela regime change project has gone public. Most of the U.S. public cannot see the forest for the trees of propaganda that has the public confused about what is behind the chaos in Venezuela today. Mostly what is behind it is U.S. funding millions of dollars to the political parties of the oligarchs. Without that money the opposition political parties would be more divided than they already are and weaker.

The mainstream media spreads the propaganda that President Nicolas Maduro is a dictator. That Maduro is repressive and killing his own people of peacefull demonstrators. That the Venezuelan Supreme Court judges are his cronies and exceeded their constitutional powers. That the Constituent Referendum called by Maduro was illegal. That the elections have been a fraud. That the opposition are patriots who are demanding democracy. That Maduro has singlehandedly destroyed Venezuela's economy. That the press and television media is censored by Maduro. That the reason President Barack Obama imposed sanctions on Venezuela is because it is a national security threat to the U.S. That President Trump has imposed additional sanction because he is upset about democracy, freedom and the rule of law in Venezuela.

None of the above is true. Yet the main stream media keeps repeating it: New York Times , Washington Post , Guardian , Fox News , CNBC , and CNN . Members of Congress keep repeating these lies, a word I rarely use. Not since the mainstream media was a co-conspirator for the Bush-Cheney administration's illegal invasion of Iraq in 2003 has the mainstream media fallen so low and been so guilty of collusion to spread false propaganda supporting illegal U.S. foreign policy aggression. Anyone who still has illusions that the U.S. mainstream media is free and independent should be dispelled of that belief by what it is misinforming us about Venezuela today.

1. "War is Peace. US is doing regime-change in Venezuela. We have always been at war with Oceania."

I find it really weird when an event happening in 2002 is hailed as proof for something happeing RIGHT NOW.
"The US tried to overthrow Chavez. Therefore, the only possible explanation is that the US are trying to overthrow Maduro now..."
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.

Well...
The opposition-controlled parliament demanded new elections and Maduro sabotaged the effort with procedural tricks. That's a fact.
Maduro is putting protesters before military courts, because the attorney-general has lambasted police-brutality. That's a fact.
The venezuelan Supreme Court judges are handpicked by Maduro. That's a fact.
They declared the parliament void and tried to install themselves as the unelected new parliament. That's a fact.
The venezuelan company responsible for counting the votes has said the vote-total has been tampered with. That's a fact.

The people of Venezuela like their democracy the way it is.

And THAT is exactly why the opposition is demanding new elections and why the people are protesting against Maduro's plan to rather change the system than lose an election.

The rest of the article is harping about the past and calling the press liars without any attempt to explain what exactly they are lying about. (I guess, calling others fake news and changing the subject is easier than coming up with actual truthful news.)

The U.S. government lies !!!!!!

They lie to us (U.S. citizens) and they lie to the world !!!!!

They have been caught repeatedly lying.

Too many lies.

Too much death and destruction.

They don't give a damn about Democracy in the U.S.

Why should they give a damn about democracy around the globe ???

Power is what they seek.

Power to control all natural resources.

Power to control the global economy.

Power for the wealthy.

Zero power to the masses.

Our military and government have been hijacked by those with wealth and powerful connections.

3. In time, despite the disinformation the US has always circulated, most people will know the truth,

despite the noise made by the fascist lunatics who try to outshout the truth.

Clearly you've remained conscious, and conscientious, have watched and learned, and asked questions. Right away, that should tell anyone you are NOT a Republican!

Great seeing your accurate comments, SamKnause. It's a real lift knowing you are keeping track, watching the patterns repeating themselves continually.

Tremendous hearing from an honest person. Truth and intelligence matter more than everything else.

Worse homicide rate in South America?
Failing oil production due to mismanagement?
Caracas the murder capital of the world?
Failing infrastructure causing rolling blackouts?
Worst inflation on the planet?
No food?
No medicine?
No dollars for imports?
Starvation & malnutrition on the rise?
Severe unemployment?
Airlines pulling out of servicing Venz?
Owing billions to China and Russia?
Brain drain?

None caused by the USA.

I would add Venezuela could teach South America and the US about economics, crime prevention, and presidential leadership. What a case study for learning.

5. Hey, Judi, even Eva Golinger is withdrawing support for Maduro's regime

She's everyday expressing more doubts of its increasingly anti-democratic attitude while you and several other apologists keep defending it. When will you just admit you support a neo-dictatorship simply because it's a "leftist" one?
