Spains authoritarian consul general in Colombia accused of hit and run, among other things

by Adriaan Alsema April 11, 2018

Spain’s consul general in Colombia reportedly killed a motorcyclist in a hit and run accident in December, Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported on Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, the accident took place in Doradal, Antioquia. Traffic police were reportedly able to detain Consul General Sergio Krsnik five miles away from the incident.

After being stopped by police, the top diplomat reportedly denied knowing about the deadly accident and claimed that the mark left by the accident was caused in an earlier incident.

On his return to Bogota, Krsnik reportedly told embassy personnel to get rid of the damage. The consulate’s security personnel, however, refused to allow the car to be removed from the premises.

After being implicated in death of motorcyclist Consul of Spain in Bogota fled
April 11, 2018 admin

On December 17, there was a traffic accident in which Sergio Krsnik Castelló was involved and only until now is known by an investigation published by the newspaper El Mundo, of Spain, which breaks the diplomatic silence that the two countries have kept .

The incident occurred at 4:30 in the afternoon of that day, when Krsnik Castelló was traveling between Medellín and Bogotá, in a gray Hyunday Santa Fe, with license plate M ES 003, of the diplomatic corps, according to the Spanish newspaper.

In the vicinity of Doradal (Antioquia) -adds that means-, apparently, the consul "was prepared to make an overtaking and instantly aborted. As a result of this maneuver, a motorcyclist impacted on the left rear part of the vehicle losing his life ".

According to the published, from there, Krsnik Castelló incurred at least two behaviors that can be considered irregular: first, he immediately left the place. "When the police intercepted him, the consul said he did not know why they were identifying him. He was informed of the reason, he replied that the red mark he had on the car was from a previous blow and was taken to the Doradal police station in order to take a statement, "says El Mundo.

I bet he wishes it had happened in Argentina instead.

Macri would have apologized for the inconvenience, and later put up a plaque at the site of the poor guy's death - in gratitude to Spain for its "contact" with the Argentine people.

I trust Colombians will show more self respect than that. Yes, the little lowlife will almost certainly claim diplomatic immunity - but it doesn't mean Santos can't inconvenience him at least a little.

Godspeed to the victim, and All the Best to his family.

whenever a Spanish government official materializes in the Americas.

Can't figure that out, can you?

Creepy!

Alan "Two Breakfasts" Garcia (as they called him in Peru) plays host to
Prince Felipe and Letizia. They seem to find him amusing. Who wouldn't?

Who wouldn't want to grow up in Colombia only to be run down on the road by a Spanish diplomat? What a fabulous dream!
