The repair of the shoes became an economic option in view of the high prices of shoes in stores. The prices of the shoe repair range between 300,000 bolivars and 8,000,000 bolivars in the center of Puerto La Cruz (Anzoátegui state).

Joel Zamora, owner of a shoe store, indicated that for three months he has not been dedicated to changing soles because of the cost of the material. In different positions the most economical price covers paste and sew simple models, El Tiempo review .

"Most people do not want to give what is. Both the sole and the thread and the stick are very expensive, "said Zamora.

In other places sewing footwear can cost up to 1.00.000 bolivares, depending on the type of material of the sole.

The young Frank Mendez said that in their workplace the mounts are between Bs 5,000,000 and Bs 8,000,000.

Méndez explained that given the shortage of cash, he has no other option than to accept a transfer and mobile payment.

Maduro blames (always someone to blame in ChavismoLand) the shortage of cash on... speculators! Yes, Maduro actually believes that people are HOARDING useless Bolivars to make some sort of profit... which flies in the face of logic and reason, since everyone spends their Bolivars as fast as they get them, as they depreciate 1000-1500% per month... which he blames (again, more blame) on the "economic war" being waged by unseen forces. Uncle Sam. Illuminati. Aruban/Bonairian mafias...
