Demonstrators took to the streets of Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia on Tuesday (May 15) in demonstrations "in solidarity with the Palestinian people", a day after the bloodiest day in Gaza in years, after Israeli forces killed 60 Palestinians near the Gaza-Israel border during demonstrations against the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem on Monday (May 14).
The largest of the three demonstrations was in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires where hundreds marched on the Israeli Embassy carrying Palestinian flags. Some also carried signs denouncing Israeli "genocide" against Palestinians.
"The Argentine Solidarity Committee with the Palestinian People rejects the new massacre by Israel, which killed, on May 14, more than 58 Palestinian men and women, some of whom were children and which left more than 2,000 people injured," a pro-Palestinian activist, Nilda Ravi, told the media.
In Sao Paulo, a building on the city's famous Paulista Avenue was lit with the Palestinian flag as protesters made their way down the busy thoroughfare denouncing the Israeli attack and calling for a "free Palestine".
