The opposition deputy and former president of the Venezuelan Parliament Julio Borges said Wednesday that in the last week more than 200 officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) were arrested for "rebellion" and that the Cuban military "persecutes" and "tortures" disgruntled young military.

"In the last week there are more than 200 officers imprisoned and detained because they have simply rebelled, it is no longer a matter of dissatisfaction in the armed forces, it is that there are, openly voices, a rebellion, especially of young people against what is happening in the country, "Borges said in a telephone interview with private radio station Union Radio.

The deputy, who is currently in Washington, said that what is happening within the FANB "is a structural problem that does not stop with the stick, with repression."

"They are torturing young people, they are persecuting young military men and they are doing it in a shameful way," he said, adding that the process of exiting the power of newly re-elected President Nicolás Maduro "has already begun" and is "unstoppable."

You read that right. Cuban military. Chavez went hog-wild after 2003, when he sought Cuban help in clearing out any opposition from the ranks of the Venezuelan military. The ranks from lieutenant all the way to Generalissimo are awash with Cuban sycophants, and the lower ranks are properly infiltrated with Cuban "spies", who report any and all dissent to the hierarchy. This is why the military will not EVER attempt a coup. No desire from the top (they get to pilfer PdVSA) and fear from the bottom.

In ChavismoLand, "rebellion" can mean anything from saying, "I'm hungry.. why don't we have food?" to "Maduro is a fool and Chavismo is a fraud!" Because defending Venezuela isn't what is important in ChavismoLand... defending the Bolivarian Revolution is what is paramount!
