Tents are going up near El Paso for children being separated from immigrant parents

TORNILLO — With the number of immigrant children separated from their parents reaching nearly 2,000, this small town in far west Texas is preparing for young Central Americans who will be housed in a temporary shelter on the border with Mexico.

At least one white tent is already visible at the Tornillo-Marcelino Serna Port of Entry, about a 30-minute drive southeast from El Paso. The shelter was last used in 2016 when a surge of Central Americans — migrant children and families — were housed here.

The drama being played out here is a result of the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" immigration policy first announced by Attorney General Jeff Sessions in April that requires that all immigrants who cross the border be charged with a crime for illegal entry.

On edit: I said something sarcastic before, but that's the wrong thing. We have to make this abundantly clear:

Many of the children sent to the camps will die.

So that maybe the overcrowding will force them to stop stealing children?

The heat could kill really young kids. I bet they won't have access to anything to elp them cool off like a community pool.

He's sending kids to the American version of ovens in tents in triple digits . His policy promoted by Sessions and others is inhumane , and a extreme and brutal way to hurt these kids for life, which trump tries to lie away and blame others when all along he and Sessions have been planning this , and now they're looking at ways to deport legal minorities . Racists and brutal policies show how little he cares for these kids, and he's terrorizing the DACA kids also, so it shows a pattern he likes being brutal to kids , again the opposite of his lies. His lying about him and Sessions cooking this policy change up shows intent to hurt children , and to damage them which is child abuse. They themselves announced this policy change from them was coming, so they're claim it was because of the Democrats is just another in the long list of lies they repeat because they know some will believe anything they claim , and some will see this as another horror story that'll follow trump and his loyalist party for the rest of their lives. This abuse will only wake up more people to vote them out of office this Nov. .
