Maradona supports Argentine president, calls for unity

Buenos Aires, March 20 (Prensa Latina) The ex Argentine football star Diego Armando Maradona sent his strength and support to President Alberto Fernandez on Friday in the face of the difficult circumstances the country is going through on the Covid-19 and asked his compatriots to be united.

'When the chips are down, it's the captain who has to go out and show. Today it is our turn to be separated, but more united than ever. Come on Alberto Fernandez, come on Argentina. Stay at home,' posted El Pelusa in a message on Instagram, which he accompanied with a photo of the president.

The day before Fernandez went to the country to announce from today a total isolation mandatory for all except indispensable personnel, appealed to the responsibility of all to cope with the pandemic and warned that they would be rigorous with those who did not comply with the quarantine.

With closed borders and the country almost paralyzed, Argentina is battling the virus that is plaguing the world, which here registers 128 cases, of which 104 are active, 21 have already been discharged and three have died.
