7. Interesting information from Beverly Manley! Her mom didn't raise a timid daughter!

It was interesting hearing about her early life with her husband. Looks as if he was absolutely smitten from the first!

He always seemed totally born to serve as the Prime Minister, a natural leader. She seems totally capable to have stepped into her role, as well.

Surely enjoying reading the Wiki. on Jamaica. Its history is far more vivid than anyone would have expected. The country has so much to be proud about after such a history, and such a struggle.

Had to try the image on the Wiki. page in a larger form.

(It takes a moment to get in motion.)

There's a lot to take in on the Wiki. history, I'm still reading it. The people had to pay a terrible price to break the evil system the British used to control the country, but they overcame, thank goodness.

Happy 60th.

and yes thatís a very good image.
Many of our mums raised us to survive without throwing knives at us 😀
That was brutal.

11. Thank you for sharing the second installment of the conversation with Beverly Manley.

It's so appropriate to get the missing information we've lacked about this part of Jamaica's history.

There's no doubt whatsoever Manley was exactly the leader, representative of the people the island needed exactly when he was available to serve. I have seen so many photos of him in magazines, etc. over decades, but, of course, we got such superficial information as we have gotten with every country other than the U.S.

He and Beverly were an amazing couple, and they both steered the culture, the country through an era when things were changing so rapidly. I had not known that education wasn't universal there before Manly. That sounds exactly like so many other countries south of the US border.

I listened to a short segment of an interview with Michael Manley which followed Barbara Manley's 2nd program in the column at YouTube, and it was possible to realize so much of what she had said about his character were evident in his manner during his interview. He seemed like a born leader, that's for sure!

It's easy to see she was the wife/companion/partner who was perfect for the marriage, and for the role in history. Such an interesting, well-balanced couple! Thanks, again, mailaise.
