Have been hearing about the Bush discussion started by Trump, and how Jeb is saying that his brother made us safe.

The guy I just heard on CNN, don't remember his name because I wasn't paying attention UNTIL he said that Trump had a point, that there were signs that something bad might happen, and Bush ordered no precautions.

Wellllllllllllllll, the night before 9/11, on the Larry King show, Joe Biden was a guest, and he was talking seriously about his fear that we weren't doing enough to make our country safe - not enough inspections - bombs could be brought in by boat or crates, and he named a few other things he was worried.

Even tho I was dressing for my sister's funeral the next day, Joe stopped me in my tracks. He was so serious he worried me, and it was all I could think about for the rest of the night.

Anyway, got up for church the next morning, put the TV on, and Joe all of a sudden, to me, became a prophet, the towers were hit.

George W wasn't worried, but Biden was...

Somebody should pull a film clip of that and use it in an ad, showing people that Joe is not just a cute smiley face, but has a brain in good working order.

It is all pretty blurry now. I wonder if there is a video clip still floating around. I know that once Joe became VP, a lot of YouTube videos of him disappeared.

I can find Larry King 9/11/01, but not 9/10/01.

I have some Biden documents on my PC, I may have saved something about that.

We were going down Memory Lane and looking at some old posts from 2008 when Joe accepted the VP nomination. A bunch of people I haven't seen around in a long time. Great group of people. I remember that everyone thought the Biden people were the most civil during the primaries.

John Edward (the psychic medium) was Larry King's guest on September 10, according to this:

But it's likely that Biden was either on Larry King in the weeks before, or on another CNN program just before 9/11 (he was Foreign Relations Chair back then).

6. Edwards was not on that night

I was laying out my clothes for a funeral which took place the next morning - I had the tv on and saw the 2nd of 2 planes hit the towers. Went to the church and that's all everyone was talking about. Poor Ann, my sister, got no attention laying there in her coffin.

The night before, Joe Biden was on. For another thing, if there was a psychic or whatever he was, I would have changed the channel. I liked Biden and that's why he was on.

I'm not sure if he was on the whole hour, or the major part of the the hour, but I sat on the edge of my couch listening to him and his concern about us not being prepared for a terrorist strike, and he mentioned several methods, (not planes)...

This is so intertwined with the funeral that there is no way it was any other day.

Somebody may have wanted to protect Bush and scrubbed it.

I did post this years ago, and someone in DU had a transcript of the program and posted it. I've had computer crashes since then and all stuff was lost. I wasn't a member till 2006, and even then, remembered THAT program. Somebody has friends in high places. Biden him self must have a file of his TV appearances.

But thank you for posting the Edwards things. It was not on...

7. I was going to suggest

that maybe it was another show or a different day, but I can see how the memory would be so fixed in your mind combined with the other details of that day. What a surreal experience that must have been.

I thought I had a Biden file on my computer, but evidently it was an old computer. I do remember a story like this, but couldn't remember the date or the show. It probably came up again when Joe was running for president.

Joe Biden stated the following in a speech given ONE day before 9/11:

Before 9/11, the Bush administration’s national security focus was on missile defense, not terrorism. In fact, on 9/11, then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice was set to deliver a speech that focused “largely on missile defense.” Writing at the Huffington Post, Joe Cirincione — president of the Ploughshares Fund — recalls this quote from Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE) on Sept. 10, 2001, warning against the Bush administration’s approach:


We will have diverted all that money to address the least likely threat while the real threats come into this country in the hold of a ship, or the belly of a plane, or are smuggled into a city in the middle of the night in a vial in a backpack.

Cirincione writes, “If George Bush had listened to Joe Biden instead of Donald Rumsfeld, the history of the past seven years would have been very different. We might have prevented 9/11.”

What a huge letdown, but at least that is over. My feelings are very mixed.
