It's just that my family has no interest in them, so I'd be the only one watching. About the only thing I really miss is Bill Maher, because even if I could find his shows on other outlets, by the time they got there they wouldn't be as relevant.

And find it funny how anyone could think the show "glorifies" the sexist and hard drinking days of the 60's. Once again, obviously people who don't watch, but appoint themselves experts on all that is patriarchal control.

Aside from the fact that the actors and actresses in their wardrobe make great magazine layouts, the characters on the show are clearly among the most miserable and saddest folks on TV, even if they themselves don't realize it.

Speaking of which.....your Christina Hendricks Emmy update!

I think they make a patch for that. Or maybe a 12 step program.

The first step is to admit you have a problem. Realize that no healthy person has any interest in seeing two sexy people engage in sex acts. That is disgusting to anyone with a normal (lack of) sex drive.

I know only Sibel Kekilli... but sometimes the sex feels out of place.

I watched season 2 one year after season 1, without consulting the "fire and ice wiki" it would have been difficult to follow for me.
Watching all the seasons on DVD in one week is probably the best thing to do.

Battlestar Galactica always had little flashbacks as a reminder before each episode, I liked that.

from on demand right now then will set to season pass. I had to clean out our DVR but we've been hurting for things to watch since Walking Dead ended.

My best friend loves it and we usually have the same taste in shows. Of all the movie channels, I think HBO put out the best shows and movies. Sopranos, Oz, Six Feet Under, Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood (it is pretty lame now though). I don't like Girls but watch it anyway and I had hopes for Enlightened but got bored with it. I'm pissed I never watched The Wire as I heard that was great.

I like Californication and Nurse Jackie on Showtime and we love Breaking Bad.

We finally got into it before the last season started when AMC ran a marathon which was great because we would watch 4-5 episodes a night. Just when we thought we had enough we would have to know what happened in the next episode so my husband and I would laugh and say just one more...we have to get some sleep!

We were so spoiled when the next season started as we were all caught up and we hated waiting an entire week for the next episode.

I felt they moved beyond just getting the pieces around the board, and started doing some very clever writing on their own.

Each episode this season has been better than the last. I'm quite enjoying it.

Big thanks to our friends upstairs for finding it!

http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2013/05/-i-game-of-thrones-i-ditches-the-book/275557/

So my initial response to the episode, especially considered in conjunction with the previous one, "Kissed by Fire" (the script of which was delegated to another writer and was extremely faithful to the novel), was: Uh-oh, Benioff and Weiss have started speeding through Martin's material so they have more time to explore their own variations on his theme.

But my second response, which registered seconds after the first, was: Who cares? If Benioff and Weiss can come up with material as strong as this on a regular basis, let them go for it. While a straight page-to-screen translation of Storm of Swords would make for terrific television (it's the best of the novels by a significant margin), in future seasons the showrunners' ability to save Martin from his own excesses will become evermore crucial.

That dude is freaking me out and I'm all about that shit. Granted, Theon is a traitorous douchebag but I'd like some context. Is the torture dude a Stark? A Greyjoy? Just a random nutcase?

At some point they have to reveal, right?
