Weinberg was sending these texts and pics to women who were receptive and reciprocating... with the exception of the one tweet which he inadvertently sent as a mass-message. (I don't "do" the twitter thing, but from what I understand it's not an uncommon mistake..). Of course, the usual suspects have apparently successfully reframed the narrative to make it seem like he was just sending "nasty" messages and pictures to any women he stumbled upon.

Anything they can do to enhance the idea that men only use sexuality to control women is a go. Same as the stuff that he is humiliating his wife, how do we know she is not an instigator behind it. You know as well as i do that its not uncommon for one partner to enjoy seeing their partner play. Problem is we just dont know. Does not stop the troops of the dvorkian first panzer division from rolling though.

Ps hope you and the misses are good.

It wasn't as if he was running on "family values" and then paying a hooker to change his diapers.

Strawman alert. I haven't seen or heard anyone say that, or post that on DU.

And sexual harassment isn't "play."

....but he's a fucking idiot for trusting anyone to keep his dick pics from going public. I saw the clip from the Inside Edition gal, clearly not as much a victim as someone enjoying their 15 minutes in the celebrity driven world. Unless you've got absolutely nothing to lose and no life, don't trust anyone. This goes for men or women.

Hell, if I ever tried to run for office, I'd scrub my tumblr, fetlife, Facebook and MySpace pages first and foremost.. probably this account too just to be safe, and would completely leave opiate69 behind... I just don't see comparing him to the caricature figure of the trench coat wearing flasher.. seems extremely hyperbolic to me.

6. My Dad, years ago, told me not to write anything I didn't want to see published worldwide.

And Richard Bach, in The Messiah's Handbook wrote: Live never to be ashamed if anything you do or say is published around the world--even is what is published is not true.

Both are good words to live by, and sayings to be well heeded while participating on the internet in any form.

8. I don't usually go in for the "addiction" model as pertains to things like sex or gambling, etc.

And yes, I realize that some behaviors can become compulsive, strongly so- but I've seen too many instances of actual physical addiction as a physiological syndrome (with, for instance, alcohol) to be able to blithely throw the "a" word around with negative behaviors performed, again, compulsively.

That said, if you're roundly humiliated worldwide for, say, pooping on a striped ottoman on the internet, and then the first thing you do even before the scandal is done is go poop on another ottoman online... whatever one wants to call it, you've got a problem.
