Can't think of anything for the first, but for the second I can only come up with Piece of Shit or Point of Sale, and I seriously doubt you mean either of those.

Many people transferred monetary assets to metals.
I am one of those people, so I watch the POG and POS closely.
So far, I am so happy that I took a percentage of our assets and
protected them in metals.
We made the move about ten years ago, so we have done well.
Just wish we would have transferred more!

It doesnt mean anything to me. The prices go up and they go down. They are currently lower than they were last year.

Do you think the price increase means something specific?

It has been stagnant for a considerable period of time after
a swooshing rise some months ago-
I am interested to hear others thought on the move.
I figured this forum was the place to discuss it.

My rule is if the price dips to double what I paid, I'll sell.
So far, they haven't even come close to that.
Why do you recommend selling?

I am following silver more closely than gold, actually, because of all the claims that JP Morgan is trying to control the prices.
And I am hearing quite a few non-mainstream pundits all pointing to much higher gold prices in the very near future.

Pls. continue, if you will, to post about current prices and information.

We live in VERY interesting times.
Don't know if you were here many years ago,
but there was a great guy who posted as "JUNKER"
He was eventually banned, unfortunately, because he just
didn't know how to avoid the "bait."
Do a search and see if you can find any of his posts
in the OLD economic forum.
Prophetic stuff...
He was one of the reasons I got into metals.
SOOOOOOOO glad I did!

There are many Junker threads in the archives- I highly recommend them.
I still think about him, all these years later-
I hope he is well.

Much of the stuff has come to pass, and many of the factors mentioned ( Iran selling oil in Euros, problems inherent with T-bill sales and the dollar, etc) are exactly what is happening now.

Pretty much watching every dime right now, but
feeling somewhat secure because of the metal I bought
years ago.
Don't want to touch it because we consider it our safety net.
But it is good to know it is there in case of an total meltdown.

Just sayin'.

Whatever you have saved/invested is "spare" cash. If it's not going to pay for daily living, it's "spare."

As I said, be glad you have it. Many don't.

by saying the Fed Funds rate is likely to remain unchanged until 2014.

therefore this bubble may have some legs to it.

Other commodities have normalized (crude oil, coal, copper).

Overlay the charts - the bubble will become obvious.
