Bailed-out RBS spends millions on Washington lobbyists

The Royal Bank of Scotland has spent more than $4m (£2.5m) of British taxpayers' money on lobbyists in Washington since it was bailed out by the government, documents disclose.

The UK government is a controlling shareholder of RBS by virtue of owning a majority of their stock.

Therefore, their lobbyists should be considered agents of a foreign government, and subject to all laws and regulations preventing interference by foreign governments in the political affairs of the United States.
