2016 General Election Edition: Welcome to the Economy Group!

Yes, as a matter of fact, I am still here... and, we have some things to talk about.

A General Election:

A General Election... Such a simple generic sounding phrase to describe something so critical to our well being and the trajectory of the future of the United States. That, however, is what it leads to.

What a grueling primary season we've experienced. Happily, it has forged what I consider to be a most amazing result:

Hillary Clinton has emerged as the Democratic Presidential Nominee. Someone with a strong track record of real accomplishment.

Bernie Sanders ran such a successful and energizing campaign he was able to influence the Democratic Platform. What he and his supporters have added to the dialog were the things that really matter. Particularly, in the area of Economics. I am very proud of their accomplishment.

In the long run if President Hillary Clinton can fully resolve even one of those issues Senator Bernie Sanders has outlined it will be worth it all. (I'm confident she will make progress on many of them and will touch on all of them.)

For this to happen, it is more imperative than ever, we must present a strong wave of candidates to the Legislative Branch as well. A group of candidates willing and able to push aside the childish antics of the Republicans and move this country into a better future.

How to really win in November.

In order to be elected our Democratic candidates must be heard. We all must vote and ensure our votes matter. It's just that simple.

On to the business of the DU Economy Group.

This statement is as relevant as ever:

Our intention is that the group is welcoming to all, inclusive to differing points of view on topics covering national/international issues related to and affecting our personal and national economic well being.

It is great to see that in addition to the perennial SMW feature (many thanks to the maintainers and regular contributors to that feature) that there are many who come to the Economy Group to post articles and threads of interest. Thanks for those and please keep them coming!

Always remember to keep a place for those affected by natural and man-made disasters in your thoughts.

To the right of the Blue "Post a Thread to this Group" button is a lighter blue button that says "About This Group"
Clicking on it will describe the host moderation functions and identify the current hosts of the group.
