Sen. Mitt Romney proposes immediate $1,000 payment to every adult American

Sen. Mitt Romney wants to give working Americans $1,000 to help those in need and stimulate the economy during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Utah Republican said Monday that urgent action is needed to aid workers and wants a direct payment included in congressional legislation now being debated. The payments might be evaluated on a month-to-month basis.

Romney also proposes “bridge grants” to small businesses in need, expanding student aid and deferring college loans for recent graduates affected by outbreak.

Utah Sen. Mitt Romney endures a recent meeting with Trump.

“The House coronavirus response package contains critical measures to help families in Utah and across the nation in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, and the Senate should act swiftly on this legislation,” Romney said.

You can imagine the chances of his Yang-esque - and very common-sense - proposal getting through Bitch Mitchy or a Cheeto veto!

God Himself couldn't make those miscreants to line up behind something like this.

Unless, of course, it went to Big Awl or Wall Street. Then it would be in the trillions.

Can't stimulate something that isn't functioning.

In other countries where quarantines are being enacted on at least some of the population, for the most part take care to enact supply and or price control regulations as well - to prevent price gouging, hoarding, etc.

But here? And with Orange Amin in power?

They'd rather let everything fall apart than enact even the slightest curbs on corporate greed.

And I believe grocery stores and pharmacies are going to keep functioning, along with restaurants for takeout.

That reminds me that someone - obviously some Democrat (or heck, maybe Mitt!) - needs to propose relief for mortgage payments and rent payments. Joe Biden (not surprisingly) mentioned these critical measures in the debate last night.

gas stations, and pharm are still open, medical facilities, and local takeout food is available. People still might need to pay rent and mortgages, utilities, and other bills unless they are deferred. Online orders are still functioning for almost every sort of consumer products.

Every dollar spent drives our economic engine, regardless of where it came from or how it's spent.

Could there be a Romney/Yang ticket in the works?

And could Mitt be Cheeto's Nader?
