Starbucks joins pledge to eliminate gender pay gap

Starbucks has joined 25 other members of the Employers for Pay Equity Consortium to share a set of “pay equity principles” and a pledge to work together to eliminate the gender pay gap.

“Together, we have leveraged our collective experiences to create a shared set of Principles to Pay Equity,” a letter outlining the effort said. “While every business has a different approach, our goal is to make the work behind eliminating the pay gap actionable and accessible to companies of all sizes.”

Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) is already one of the better companies when it comes to gender pay equity, according to a Gender Pay Scorecard report compiled by Arjuna Capital and Proxy Impact, which gave Starbucks a grade of “B.” Citigroup was the only organization to earn an “A” grade.

In 2018, the coffee chain announced it had reached 100 percent pay equity for women and men and people of all races performing similar work in the United States. The company said last month that Starbucks in China and Canada, two of the largest global markets for company-owned stores, had also met the goal.

swill. Just about any fair trade coffee at HEB is ten times better.

They never ever spontaneously start treating their workers decently, they have to be exposed pulling their shit every single time and dragged kicking and screaming. I will never forgive them over how many lawsuits had to filed to force them into stopping their policy of stealing tips from their hourly employees to pay their managers.
