my off days were monday tuesday wednesday which sucked. Also, hours were 6pm till 430am.

Then I moved up the seniority list to the second shift, but still got to pull one overnight a week. Arrgh...

You don't have to be cheerful when you first get up. There is 80% less office politics and general bullshit. The motto when I worked nights was get-er-done right and enjoy the effort. Leave the bullshit to the day crew. They seem to enjoy it or at least go along with it.

Many years ago. The late shift was at a can factory: 3 - 11:30, I think. That shift was great for me at the time. I also worked an 11pm-7:30AM shift in a chemical plant. I only lasted about 4 months- I couldn't sleep during the day...
