OCC receives training funds from Department of Labor

Oakland Community College is one of 13 community colleges in a multistate consortium which will receive educational funding through the U.S. Department of Labor's Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training program.
The consortium is headed by Henry Ford Community College.
OCC will receive $760,294 through the grant over three years. The funds will be used to implement curricula and buy training equipment that adopts the AMTEC Manufacturing Curriculum.
AMTEC, the Automotive Manufacturing Technical Educational Collaborative, is a National Science Foundation Center of Excellence. It provides flexible career pathways tied to the achievement of competency-based education and certifications, sharing best practices and educational models. AMTEC also supports strong industry involvement and learn and earn models to build a skilled workforce pipeline that serves the automotive industry.
