A man was seriously injured early Monday afternoon in an industrial accident in east Omaha.

Reports from Douglas County 911 dispatchers indicated that the man’s hand became caught in a press.

Co-workers worked to stop the bleeding, reports from the scene also indicated, and the man’s hand was freed from the machine before rescue squad personnel arrived.

The accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. at Midwest Manufacturing & Welding Co. near North 11th and Seward Streets, north of TD Ameritrade Park on the north edge of downtown.
