HERE local 57 will be protesting near the Renaissance hotel, 107 6th St, this Friday 2-5pm. They have been dragging on contract negotiations for about 7 months now. We proposed raises, health care, and contract language for departmental improvements; they came back with don't bring guns to work and don't eat in the cafeteria if you're just coming to pick up your check.

I would love to be able to find out how much they pay their lawyer, from a top union-busting firm. Meanwhile they've offered 0 to 15 cent raises with increases in health care that result in negative raises.

This is not much notice, but come if you can.
