"New CDC guidelines come down hard in favor of opening schools"

https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/23/health/cdc-coronavirus-school-guidelines-new/index.html

"New US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines on education and child care come down hard in favor of opening schools, saying children don't suffer much from coronavirus, are less likely than adults to spread it and suffer from being out of school."

"But the new guidelines posted Thursday do recommend that local officials should consider closing schools, or keeping them closed, if there is substantial, uncontrolled transmission of the virus."

"The CDC has been promising new guidelines for more than a week, after demands from President Donald Trump that the agency alter its recommendations for opening schools."

People only read the headline. When dispensing advice, one needs to deliver the headline that most don't want to hear. Explanations to follow. The executive branch is currently delivering the message that the President most wants to hear and hoping that people will read between the lines. A bad strategy in so many.

The fucking moron is shooting himself in the foot and the GOP are going to pay for it in Nov. Those voting parents and grandparents aren't going to be too happy about this, especially when you think about how people normally get sick in the Fall. This will pack a double punch...right around voting time.

As the old saying goes. The reality of politics is that what we say and what is heard can be contradictory.
He has very few weeks to get "on message " he's never shown a tendency towards that.

How can doctors, who took am oath to do no harm, cave into Trump's self-serving political ambitions and place hapless citizens at risk?
